I have it already wired up- with the speaker wired to a quarter inch jack.
My question is- I know I've seen a thread where a guy drilled a hole in one of the back panels to install the jack.
Anyone know what I'm talking about, or know how to go about doing this?

You’ve already wired the speaker to a 1/4” jack — a female jack? Sounds like you just want to have a panel mounted female jack - the way an extension cab is mounted … right? Have to know what combo cab you’re using to be sure, and you want to mount the jack to the wood of the cab and not through a chassis, right? Generally you’d just get a 1/4” jack plate, drill a hole per the size of the plate in the wood of the cab (checking to be sure you’re not drilling into anything important on the other side), mount the plate (screws), and wire it up. Here’s a source for jack plates - although you can probably get them on amazon, guitar center and the like amprepairparts.com/jackpanel.htm

I like the Marshall type recessed plate since it keeps the plug from sticking out. Bad things can happen from that.
