I picked up a 20/40 and it’s blowing fuses when taken off standby. Good in Standby, but blows immediately when powered on.
From what I’ve read I suspect a power tube and have a new quad set being delivered today. I plan to follow the Doctor’s trouble shooting guide, but need to get some spare fuses.
On the back of the amp it’s marked for a 3 amp fuse, but is this a slow blow or fast? Also, I noticed the ZLux uses a 2 amp fuse and have read it’s a slo blow. The fuses that keep blowing are 2 amp fast. I need to know the correct size.
Hoping it’s something simple so I don’t have to send it in.
Thanks

They should be all slo-blow fuses. The inrush of current that charges the filter capacitors when switched out of standby will zap non-slo blows.
