For those who have or had both whats the pros or cons for both units.
I have the Fender reverb but am very curious about the Zverb.
Thanks

Z-Verb hands down. Think of the Z-Verb like a brand new original 63 from the Fender factory. I've not had the pleasure of playing a brand new 63 from Fender, but I have owned and played a Vintage one. The Z is a little brighter, a little stronger in the verb. New tank, new tubes. I imagine a Z with some time and age on it would sound the same.
I've also had a couple RI. Meh.
I currently use a pedal. I just couldn't justify the Verb unit for as little verb as I use.

I love the Zverb. I have not had the pleasure of playing a vintage original Fender, but the Z covers all your analog Verb needs, from tight to splashy. Built solidly, you can’t lose on the Z if you love Verb.

I've owned both but they were years apart. I don't remember thinking that there was a HUGE difference but I much preferred the front controls on the Z-Verb.

Thanks for the replies! I must admit if I never heard of either one I'd buy the Zverb on looks alone!

The ZVerb adds the Z tone to non Z amps, which is cool. It also seems to have a bit of variability in reverb sounds....at lower levels it feels a bit like a “Room” style reverb, which can be brighter or warmer via the tone knob. I can’t compare it to vintage Fender, but I can say it will feel like a Z vibe...which is a bit more bright and adds clarity. Fender reverbs I’ve played in vintage combo amps felt a bit softer or sweet. ZVerb can be dialed softer/sweeter but can ADD something, which is something that all Z stuff seems to be able to do.
Gets very drippy at higher levels....also can be just a nice touch of reverb.

My experience mirrors most others. I’ve owned both and the Zverb’s the bees knees, compared to the RI Fender unit. Sold my RI Fender after getting the Z. The Fender had pcb guts (not necessarily bad) and some junky plastic clips that connect to inside the actual tank. Those clips failed on me twice and needed supergluing or removal and soldering to be more reliable for gigging. Sound wise the Z is more authentic to the OG 60’s units with more range (subtle to surfy) and 3-Dness than the RI or any pedals I’ve tried (also have a Flint and Polara). The Zverb does kinda “warm up” your tone even bypassed but in a nice tubey way. Great for bright teles not detrimental to other guitars either. Only real competition to the Zverb I’ve experienced first hand is some (not all, they must be maintained) real 60s Fender units or the Victoria Reverberato (also a Flint-killer). Surf’s up 🏄🏼 And Rock On!
