Could be cool. Would be cool to hear. But too much money for a non-modeling guy like me.

I'm impressed by the advances in modeling, I hear some great tones. But I've got the best of the real stuff with my Z amps, and stomp boxes make up for any other tone I'd possibly need. It would be a very expensive toy for me. I've tried digital and it's always ended up in the closet or up for sale...then I plug into my Z amp and say, "There it is."

I agree I have tried the digital modeling stuff as well and it does not compare to the Pure tone of these Z amps. Even effects wise I prefer the stomp boxes over digital effects. For recording though some of the amp modeling stuff is not bad though.

If I ever decided to go amp-less, I'd look into this (and other modelers....Kemper especially). Fractals are showing up in many pro rigs these days, so there must be something to them. For me though, when I see "value" and "edit" (etc) knobbies I get the heebie jeebies.

After 55 years, the happiest and most challenging playing experiences I’ve had are guitar-cable-amp.
Just saying...

Guys,
I appreciate your notifications.
I came from a long time ago; in ‘68 wah and fuzz came in when I had a Fender DuoSonic, which was a whole new thing. I did that, but I also did a lot of ES330 playing through a ‘67 BF Vibrolux Reverb - blues, jazz, whatever. Later, with a Polytone BabyBrute, mostly jazz. Then got into Boogie and Z with 335 Studio, Guild Bluesbird and Tele; now it’s pretty much Maz18 with Tele/Guild and Cure with CS336, with a Heritage Golden Eagle through a DV Mark Jazz 50 head and Boogie 1x12 - for whatever pays.
Effects these days? Compressor-Drive-Mod-Delay.
I am glad that y’all are here for this.
Thanks!
South

I am actually down to just a Jam Pedals Fuzz Phrase and a Strymon El Capistan delay. I plan on carefully selecting a few more pedals. The less the better. I like simplicity.

I have the Kemper, but I never take it anywhere. That thing is too much bother if you ask me. But what I would like is a single unit that has all of the effects I want to use and maybe a boost. Not many units on the market that really fit that ask. Looking at the HX Stomp, it can probably do that, but holy crap that thing has way more junk than I really need. And it would be nice to have dedicated knobs for adjusting parameters instead of all of these clever knobs that have push to click, hold it down, pull it up - I can never remember any of that crap in the heat of the moment. Nothing like looking down at a pedal with a knob labeled "Gain" and you just turn it.

I’m fascinated by the Kemper, but what I’d pay for is the “Kemper Limited” - just give me the ability to easily bring up an amp and cab/mic, allow me to tweak tone stack real-time, and give me access to some effects, and easily assign that to a foot controller. Eliminate everything else - I would happily pay Doc, Jim Lill and others to do profiling.
The problem for me with these units is the endless tweaking and fidgeting they present and encourage. I fall down the rabbit hole too fast when presented with too many options and variables.

Every time I've tried to go digital I spend endless hours twiddling all the options only to come back the next day and hate the tone that I liked.
