Thanks so very much to @ motobum for selling me his Mini Z. This is my FIFTH Mini Z (3rd 110 combo, and 2 1x8 combos). I fell in love with my first Mini Z (110 combo) but sold it to acquire a Monza. Tried 4 other times to regain the magic. The fourth time is the charm. This 4th one has all the charm of my 1st. The Monza is a rock 'n' roll BEAST, but i have to admit, that the magic in my first Mini Z (now, finally recaptured) has always been my favorite Z tone.
I was worried about the Maz tranny upgrade, because I didn't think that perfection needed any tinkering. Having owned all 3 iterations of the Mini Z combo, I must say that all of the changes to the Mini Z have been for the best.

What year is your favorite? I’ve thought of a Mini Z head, because they are pretty affordable. Does yours have the built in attenuator?

I bought my first from Humbucker in April of 2011, so presumably a 2010 or 2011. I so missed that one (DOH!). The present one, I believe is from 2018. It was only owned for a few months and really is in mint condition.
Yes, both my first and the present one had/have the built-in attenuator. I also put a Swart Night Light Jr. into the mix to tame the volume just a little bit more. Works very well.
I was leery of the transformer upgrade on the later models, as my first had the original transformer, but it is a non-issue. I can't heap enough praise about the Mini Z.
