And this thing just totally rocks. I tend to play with the volume and tone of my guitar (Teles) quite a bit and there is a world of cleans and semi dirt in this thing before it rips your head off!

Really? I didn't realize that amp could remove body parts. I didn't think so either! Honestly, I've been getting into some Marshall type sounds recently and I thought that the Remedy would be the thing for me but I couldn't find a clip of the SRZ-65 that I didn't like. I love the sounds in this thing and how much you can control it from the guitar. I wound it up a bit and the sound went right through me. Powerful stuff!

Thanks I'm deep in Marshallville lately

Man, I have to agree after playing it for a few hours today. Completely thrilled with the tones that are coming from this one and it's exactly what I'd hoped for in the way it responds to the input from the guitar. I have a friend that has been wanting one of these forever and actually has the 6545...we get to compare them this afternoon. Time to break out some hearing protection!

One of my favorite Z amps. Folks fear the 60 watts, but the master does a great job of making them manageable. You can put 6CA7s in it (with a rebias) and make it more Van Halen like.

THIS was a great time last night! Comparing my friend's 6545 to my SRZ...wow, what great sounds.

I've got a 6545. What differences did you guys perceive between its "65" side and the full-on SRZ?

I've got a 6545. What differences did you guys perceive between its "65" side and the full-on SRZ? What we noticed is that the SRZ was a bit more open and 'raw' compared to the 65 side of the 6545. Almost like if you combined the 45 and 65 sides of the 6545. But it was really close anyway and the difference could have just been tubes involved. There are GTs in the SRZ and I'm not sure what's in his 6545. I also don't know how old either set is. I REALLY liked the 6545. There were some ghost notes in the 45 side of his amp but nothing that I'd ever hear in a band environment. It's a fantastic amp!

Congratulations on a great amp. You're right about the master volume its fantastic and the 60 watts is there if needed. Mine has been my goto gig amp for years. When I received the amp, thx Mike (Jaguarguy), it had JJ Kt77 output tubes. It sounded so dang good i've never tried EL34s. I use a closed back 2x12 cab with old greenbacks. It's tired and long overdue for some serious bench time, i've got a pair of Gold Lion kt77s and JJ el34s to try after the facelift.
If you get the opportunity try some kt77s which may not be your cup of tea but JJs are fairly inexpensive and sound great in the amp.
