I have been very curious of how the level control is implemented. I have master volume amps and I have a few attenuators. My mini z has a built-in attenuator and it is very useful although I wish it wasn't limited to just four steps of attenuation. I have a Weber Mass Lite as well that I sometimes use with my remedy head. I have a brake Lite installed in my Fuchs Blackjack 21. The reason why I'm asking all this is I have a friend that is really loving playing my Les Paul through my Allen amp Chihuahua which can be very very blackface clean and also I can turn up the raw control and get it a little Tweed sounding as well. That sound is awesome and my friend is over the moon about getting a Les Paul but he's underwhelmed with his Fender Princeton reverb reissue now that he has played my Allen. His funds are limited and I have been thinking maybe he should get a hand-wired hand-built fender circuit amp like my Allen ... around 20 watts so that it can hang with rock volumes. but then I was thinking about a dr. Z cure for my friend and with that you could get very quiet venue levels, as we play in small restaurant sometimes, or it can hang with a medium loud rock band, from what I've read. I have read that The Cure can get pretty nice cleans and also so much more tones then you could get with a straight up fender type amp. Plus it's 15 Z Watts and I know that means pretty dang loud haha! And that is good in some situations. But also he will need to be able to play this amp less loud situations. So I'm curious. Is the level control Power scaling? Is it an attenuator? Is it a second kind of master volume? Does it sound good at low levels? Dr Z is really good with PP I master volumes, so why the power level knob? It must be more powerful/ sophisticated than that right?

The Cure's Master Volume is pre-phase inverter. The Level control is post phase inverter. It's not an attenuator or power scaling, it's an incredibly toneful output Level control. Set up your sound with the Volume and the Master (which gives you a great deal of variety in your drive) and then the Level control takes over the amp's output. Does it sound good at low levels? It's the best I've ever heard. I love my Cure, I can get a ton of useful sounds out of it. And you can have those tones at hang-with-loud-drummer levels or whisper quiet.
