After doing some research I decided to order the Holy Grail PLUS. After placing the order I came across some bad reviews that mentioned this pedal being a tone sucker and causes significant volume loss or drop. I haven’t received my pedal yet, but are these negative reviews fairly accurate?

Mine was fine as long as I used the included 9.6v power supply. If I tried to power it with the rest of my pedals, it made noise.

I recall the same issue when I had one when using with my one spot. I ended up moving it along. I really like the Dr. Scientist MiniReverberator bc it's the size of a normal pedal, runs on 9V supply cable and has a ton of reverbs inside. I've owned two and still have the second one. Well built and very versatile.

Thanks for the insight guys. I got my pedal in yesterday and for what I’m using it for I was pleasantly surprised. I only needed a touch of reverb for ambiance and when keeping the blend knob at about 10:30 and other knob at about 2:00 it’s doing fine. I use spring because I can’t hear too much ambiance going on with hall or room.
Now I can see exactly how the above comments hold water. I would like to have a reverb pedal that doesn’t diminish volume or color tone at ANY setting. I’m not sure if a simple stomp box exists to really do that. At least for less than $150 or so.

I have a couple of the Holy grail pedals and really like them. I've always used a dedicated power supply though.

What upsets me is that after carefully reading up on this pedal I found nothing that recommended that its own power source should be used. I mean, I run a little pedal board with a power supply....like 90% of lead guitarist I know. Shouldn’t the company describe this pedal as one that should be used alone or that it may not achieve optimal results on a powered pedal board? Sorry for the rant.

I'm sorry, I didn't mean to imply the only way it worked was with its own power supply. I really meant that that is the only way I have used. It wasn't because I had a problem and the only way I fixed was using a dedicated source, its just the way it worked out for me.

The MiniReverberator is affordable. Think I found mine used around $150

You make the best cables in the biz and I’d hate upset you 😬. Anyway, I guess I’m keeping the pedal. It’s actually pretty good on my pedal board at the settings I use, which is just a touch.

Ha ha ha, not upset at all! Thanks for kind words about our cables!
