with another device of the same name from a company called Voodoo Labs--a possible trademark violation, maybe, but a funny one! Careful how you Google!). Anyway--it seems excellent. Actually fits under a Pedaltrain Nano or Nano + with no modification, unlike the Strymon Ojai, which was a big disappointment. Has four 9v taps, plenty of juice for your El Capistan or whatever. Can be expanded simply and cheaply with Voodoo Lab output splitters (because who runs just four pedals when you can fit five on the board, amirite?). Very light, affixes securely with supplied Velcro (male only--you have to provide the fuzzy side yourself). Includes power module, power cable (reasonably stout), and four s/ra cables to connect to your pedals. Small enough that it can be installed without interfering with patch cabling. Once I get the whole little board together I'll post pics--still waiting on a splitter and some EBS flat patch cables to finish up.

Too tall. They don't fit under a stock Nano or Nano +, which was my whole reason for buying the Ojai--wanted to get away from the One Spot for small boards. So, Strymon sends you off to a supplier to buy extenders for your pedalboard's feet. But the extenders don't fit. You email Strymon for advice and they say, huh, that's weird. And that's the end of it. I'm sure the Ojai works well if you have enough clearance under your board to make it fit, but it didn't work for me. Still have it--will sell if anyone's interested.

On my PT Metro board I went with a Pedaltrain Spark, which also works great.

Sorry to hear the Ojai didn't work out for you. I think it's a good product. My pedal board got quieter when I switched to the R30.

I have a Pedaltrain Classic 1. One of these days I'm going to try to put together a Nano board. But the thought of running 1 or 2 OD pedals is a little frightening.
When you say the extenders didn't fit, were they too small, not long enough ? If I knew the dimensions you need, I bet I could find you something that would work.

A friendly FYI that the CS6 does not fit under the earliest version of the PT Mini. Truetone's specs claim it fits the Mini, but they were not diligent about checking all versions. I bought one and had to return it.

When you say the extenders didn't fit, were they too small, not long enough ? If I knew the dimensions you need, I bet I could find you something that would work. In the instructions from Strymon, the extenders just press into the existing feet and are held there firmly. When I tried them, they didn't fit--couldn't even pound them in with a hammer. So, apparently Pedaltrain has used feet with different interior dimensions at various times. What I'm after is something that works without extra steps, which is what's great about the X4. The Spark also installs very easily, and will fit under a Metro, Nano+, etc., no problem.

It sounds like Strymon, Truetone and Pedaltrain need to start talking to each other before they make claims of compatibility. How difficult could that be? Especially since their success partially depends on their products actually fitting other products.

A couple of images of the little Nano + board I threw together with the X4. Cabling could be neater, for sure, but you get the idea. What I like about it, other than its low profile, is that it'll mount under a larger pedal like the DBD and not interfere with your patch cable routing. Patch cables are EBS flat cables, about $7 each--very flexible, plus the plug heads are very small which saves space. I'm also using a Voodoo Lab output splitter on one of the 4 taps, which is basically a two-output daisy chain.

Very cool set up you have there. I was going to suggest some standoffs between the feet and the board, but it looks like you've the situation well in hand.
I've heard good things about the Jetter. What's your take on it ?

How do you like the DS pedal? Is it more like an overdrive/distortion or AIAB type?

How do you like the DS pedal? Is it more like an overdrive/distortion or AIAB type? So far I like it a lot. I guess it could be either-it’s definitely got a Marshall-type vibe, but it’s pretty versatile within that general category. I turned the internal gain pot all the way up and I really like how it sounds in that configuration. It may just knock the Velvet Drive off my main board—we’ll see.

Well I see Strymon now has a low-profile power supply that they claim will fit those mini pedalboards. The height is 1.18 inches.

EBS also makes low profile jack power cables too.
Looks great.

Nice, but darned pricey. I bought some EBS patch cables for my board for places where I could not fit PCNS cables and they are top notch. But again those were too expensive to me for use on the entire board where clearance isn't critical.

What's your take on it ? Just now seeing this--sorry. The Jetter GS-124 is my all-time favorite mid-gain OD pedal. Ballsy even at lower volume settings, never thin or brittle. The volume pot actually has a useable taper so you don't have to crank it to get it to open up, and the dirt has just the right grain/feel to my ear. The tone control does nice, musical things depending whether you're playing single coils or humbuckers. I think I own five of them now, if you count the Jetter Monster as two.

Hosa patch cables are about half that. True tone power cables are a little more than half what the the EBS cables are priced.
