Trojanhov: Did you purchase your Protein pedal direct from Browne Amplification and if your did how much was shipping and the price you actually paid for the pedal! This pedal sounds "outstanding" and its extremely versatile being about to run the "Blue" and "Green" channels separately or stacked together!

I was finally able to land a preowned mini...it's on its way to me. Looking forward to giving it a go.

I just ordered one of the minis as well, no telling how long it will take to get here though with all the Covid Delays and such!

I just ordered one of the minis as well, no telling how long it will take to get here though with all the Covid Delays and such! I was trying to find a dealer here in Canada but no luck...and getting anything out of the US may take forever...found a used one that came up and I grabbed it. I got it a couple days ago. I really like it so far. We have a gig coming up soon so it will be fun to see how it works in a live setting. I think it could be an always on sort of pedal. Lay off the guitar volume a bit to clean it up and crank it back up for some grittier tones. It pairs well with my BB preamp which is in front of the Nobels...when I need a little more mid range to push through.

Mine arrived just now! One Week including crossing the Border, I'm impressed, I figured it would take much much longer. My wife is away this weekend so I will put it through its paces in the "Loud Room".

As I have noted I like the ODR Mini but have needed various "workarounds" to tweak the excessive bass. I finally decided to get the ODR-C from Nordland. I believe the owner of Nordland developed the original ODR. They acknowledge that the original design had some defects and claim this is an improved version with those fixed; basically with a Bass Cut control and better components.
Thanks trojanhov for turning me on to this. It should be here within a couple of weeks. It's coming from Germany.

The changes make it much more useful, all on it's own with no need to run another pedal with it. Besides the Bass rolloff control it has a control to tweak the compression. I think ALL dirt pedals should have that.

Here is a very good video demoing several settings on the ODR-C. As this shows I have found this pedal to be so versatile that it is hard to pick just one. I could easily live with 2 or 3 of these on my board and NO OTHER dirt pedals. The only downside to this pedal I see is it is a very limited production, but no more than the KOT.

Another good one that's based on the ODR is the XTS Imperial Drive, but it's significantly more expensive than the ODR (a NEW ODR).

Just got an ODR-1 dropped off from USPS. Looks like the first gig I will have a chance to try it at is set for December 12th if it doesn't get canceled.

I have one of the bass cut models. I have it set on bc all the time. It also sounds great at 18 volts. Sounds decent into my small solid state practice amp well. The spectrum control is not like a traditional tone control that a tubescreamer Would have. Not really sure what’s going on with that but I set it’s at around 10 o’clock and leave it. Not as much mids as most od pedals either. I’m not really sure what to compare it to. It’s truly different from my other drive pedals.

The honeymoon period is over with my ODR-C and I have had a chance to play a live gig with it. How many ODs have you had that sounded good in the store and at home but did not make the cut in a full blown live band mix? This one is a keeper.

The spectrum control is unique. It raises or lower the bass (low mids Brian says) and treble simultaneously while leaving the mids pretty much alone. So tonally I believe at lower spectrum settings the bass and treble would be lowered leaving the mids a little prominent. Raising the spectrum raises the bass and treble which makes the mids seem more tucked back. Brian Wampler has a cool video about it. At 1:15 in the video he puts a frequency analyzer on a ODR-1 and a Tubescreaner to show the difference.

The honeymoon period is over with my ODR-C......This one is a keeper. That looks interesting. I like that it has a adjustable bass cut control. The ODR-1BC I have just has the slide switch, which is effective, but a knob would be better probably.

There's always room for another dirt box. They were in stock, so no KOT-type backlog. It's expected to ship from Germany tomorrow. (I got the black version, fwiw.)
I was looking at the Browne Amplification Protein, but I didn't need another Bluesbreaker-style pedal: it was the ODR-1 side that piqued my interest. The ODR-C is about the same price point, but with a lot more control.

I bought the ODR-1 about 3 months ago and have finally had a chance to play a couple of gigs with it. I was impressed with it as a bedroom practice pedal. When I finally got to play it at gig levels, it is really hard to describe what it does. There is a lot of drive available in this pedal but I set at just the edge of break up. I used it with my Nova and my Charvel super Strat for one gig and last night I used my Strat plus into a little grab & go Hughes and Kettner head with a 1x12 Marshall speaker cab. It is pretty well a leave on all the time pedal. I pushed it with a Keeley modded Boss Blues Driver and or a stock Boss SD1. I don't see this pedal leaving my board. It just adds "THAT" to my sound.

Yeah, I opted for the black one also. Just as a starting point here is where I have my settings when used with my Tele: Drive - 12:00 Level - 12:30 Spectrum - 10:30 Mid - 2:30 O.D.C. - 1:00 Lo Cut - 9:00
I use it for my "full blown overdriven stack" tone. I have other pedals that I use for the milder stuff. Mainly a Timmy and a Direct Drive. I think the ODR-C will do that also but I have not really tried to dial that in. So many of the pedals available to us sound basically the same. TS and BB clones. This one just seems different to me.

ODR-C arrived yesterday. I like it and was able to get a variety of nice pushed and OD tones from it. No a/b comparisons yet. But it's definitely a keeper.
It appears to be solidly built. The manual is great. The fractured English is endearing, and there are graphs of how the mid, spectrum and lo-cut controls alter frequency response. It would be neat if more companies would provide this.
It arrived very quickly from Germany. I ordered on 2/27, which was a Saturday. It shipped on Monday, March 1. I had it a week later.

Unlike some pedals, mostly OD's, I find I like the ODR-C the MORE I use it. The compression and lo-cut controls let me dial it in to work with any guitar/amp combo. Even live where a lot of OD have failed for me.

Even live where a lot of OD have failed for me. I agree...live situations are where I need an OD to shine...I think I am going to love the Belle at gig levels! I am already loving it at lower levels my home studio space... Can't wait to get on a stage with it!

Not a full-on ODR, but I bought into the frenzy of the Browne Amplification Protein v2.2 and ordered one.
Basically, the left side is a tweaked Bluebreaker pedal and the right is a tweaked ODR-1.

I've been using my Nobels ODR1 BassCut lately and really like it. The down side is it's pretty large. So I got thinking about this thread and revisited the Norland ORD-C. I just ordered one. They have two smaller version available now called the "CC" and "CC+". I think I'll like the extra features it offers over my Nobles. I'll definitely like the size, and prefer side jacks. I went with the CC+ green version. New Norland ODR-CC+

Let us know when you get it and share your first impressions. I continue to be very happy with it, and it worked great playing live with the band.

^^^ Let us know when you get it and share your first impressions. I continue to be very happy with it, and it worked great playing live with the band. Will do. I can't comment on the pedal yet, but I can say he's excellent to work with. After I ordered the mini I thought maybe I should order a second to save on shipping if I wanted another at a later date. (40 bucks international shipping) So I ordered an original size ODR-C as the second one. I sent him an email asking to ship them together if possible to save on shipping. He responded an hour later (on a Saturday) to confirm and sent me a tracking notice for both on Sunday. He shipped them out Monday morning and the package already made it through customs from Germany and is in the state side FedEx system. He's definitely on top of things! I have two pedal boards, so I'm planning to put one each board.
