Does anybody here just LOVE your M12??? I mean, just gonna say it....it seems the M12 is a “scenario” amp when for when you can’t bring your “better” amp. It’s the band aid fix for quiet gigs. Not that people don’t like it, but it’s just not a favorite it seems.
Now I’ve only owned an M12 and RXJR (played a Ghia, z28, and ray briefly), but I gotta say I’ve absolutely been loving the M12 lately. Running through an open back 2x12 (Greenback and G12H) as of late, along with an RFT EF86. Sort of doing the Steve Miller thing too. EL844 with the 5AR4. Really liking how the RFT brings some more crunch and a less mids compared to the Winged C.
Don’t get me wrong, still wish I had a wreck and a ray, but would never need that many watts. I play mostly at church (1,500+ seats) so we mic amps in the back room. M12 is great in that setting as well.
Anyone else feeling the love for this little Z?

I agree with you. For me, the M12 just does so many things well. Mine is the 1x10 form factor with the Z speaker.
There was a thread a while back about why it was discontinued and seems there is speculation about many reasons. In any event I’m happy I got one of the last new ones. Sheer speculation on my part but I wouldn’t be shocked to see a limited re-release some day.

...Not that people don’t like it, but it’s just not a favorite it seems. ... Exactly. GREAT amp that does its thing extremely well. Problem is that it's surrounded (within Dr. Z's product range plus all the others on the market) by so many outrageously-awesome, bombastic amps that it doesn't get any attention. Like the quiet, smart, sensible guy that nobody listens to because he doesn't care to speak up. Or that pretty, smart girl from history class who doesn't dress provocatively and gets overlooked at the school dance.

To me, the M12 is one of Doc's best amps. I really like mine. Have not gigged with it, but I think it would be a great gigging amp. I use pedals with mine and am running a celestion 12" gold with it. It gets plenty loud and if it is not loud enough, I can use my boost pedal to coax more out of the amp. The amp takes pedals really well. I was really shocked when it was discontinued. Everybody likes different things, but I really like the M12.
