Hey brothers, first night out with the Z-plus and no back-up! Traveled with it in a very heavy duty road case in our trailer. Got to the church plugged it up left it in standby until I got everything else started up. Turned it on and had some low volume static/white noise and very low dirty output. Shut it down checked and made sure all the tubes were seated started it back up same thing, noise with volume and master off... shut back down checked Reverb connections started it back up, same thing let it went ahead and played it for a few seconds and it cleared up, normal sound normal output... any ideas?

That's a good one I haven't run into yet. I really have no Idea what would make it static, then go away. Hard to fix something that isn't broke. Call Don @ 216 475 1962 next time it happens and maybe he can help suss it out.

Thanks Doc. Got up and played twice with no issues and it sounded amazing! I’ll have it back at my church tomorrow eve. Maybe it was the power here? We shall see! Thanks again!

I don’t think my cell was beside it but I can’t swear to it either? That’s kind of the sound it was making, but it was just different than I had heard?

It could have been Fairy Dust overspray on the tube pins and it burned off after a few minutes.

This totally sounds like cell phone interference to me. This happened to me once when I accidentally left my cell phone on the amp. It happened again when, because of a small stage, I put my wireless microphone receiver on top of the amp.

I hope so, I’ve had cell phones do it before with other amps, and it could be that the Plus being single ended reacted differently than I’m used to? I gotta admit it scared me a little, but man did deliver, got quite a few compliments! I love it!

If it happens again, then you know it is the cell.

Just set my amp up started up with no noise... so I tried sending some messages back and forth to my wife no noise. But one variable I can’t try here is actual cell service it’s all over wi-fi. So next time I have my amp in town I’ll try again! So far it’s looking more like the fairy dust...
