I've been wanting one for some time. I stuck my Celestion Blue in my Cure to see if I would like it, and I did! That led me to get the Gold because I wanted to use it with both my Cure and my Therapy. Currently, the Gold is in the Cure and the Therapy is sitting on top the Cure. Both amps sound really good through it. I really like what it (and the Blue) added to the Cure. It is welll documented on this Forum how well the Gold sounds with the Therapy. Now, I know too!

The gold also sounds good with a Ghia. And it goes without saying that a gold and blue together are just this side of heaven!

I'm sure my Ghia will get played through it before the weekend is over.

I've got an empty Avatar 2x12 open back cab and I think next time I get inspired I'm going to pull my Gold and Blue together and see what it's like. I've never tried them together.

I love the Gold! Completely opened up the Db4’s top end/clarity. Mines still a little harsh in the top end but it’s supposed to warm up once broken in. It’s almost like a quick line between too shrill in the treble and just right. Also, recently installed a gold 10” in the Z 2x10. Love them Golds

I found that the Gold improved with break in more than any other speaker I've owned. It also took longer than almost any other speaker I've owned. I've had mine for 10-12 years now and used it in many different 1x12 \ 2x12 cabs and combos. It only sounded bad in one closed back ported 1x12 cab. It sounds great with a Blue but my favorite combo so far is the Gold and a C-Rex. They just seem to bring out the best in each other for the kind of music I play. Enjoy.

I have a 10" gold that started good and turned great after a few weeks of work by my oldest son.
The break in is an amazing experience on these speakers

What type of music do you play? Have you tried to combine the green with the gold. Fairly large dB difference between the two but a few different users over on the gear page have raved about that combination. This is the first I’ve heard anyone mention the gold with C-Rex. Edit-neglected yo realize you were talking about 12’s (my mistake). Todd got my mind on 10’s after his post lol.

I started with blues for about 10 years, then started adding jazzy chords to my blues playing. I have now pretty much abandoned blues for jazz. specifically chord melody. My guilty pleasure has become surf in the past few years. All of my playing is pretty much clean with no effects except trem and reverb so my tastes run contrary to the very popular "edge of breakup" tones that many chase. My speaker preferences may not be relevant to you. Yes 12's, I only have one amp with 10's, a 61 Brown Super. No, I've never paired the Gold with anything in the GB camp but I have paired it with far less efficient speakers in the past with good results. Just can't remember the specifics (probably ceramic though). I also really liked the Gold with the Emi RW&B. YMMV

I have really been enjoying this Gold in my Cure. I really don't know how to describe it other than it sounds great. I'm sure it's the upper mids that are making it stand out. Perhaps it's the way the "just starting to break up" tone hits the speaker? Don't know, but I love it. My 339 sounds KILLER through it.

I put one of mine in my Maz 18NR MKII and it really, really sounds fantastic. I was running the WGS ET-65 but it's in my Z-Wreck right now. Not sure, I might get another Gold for the Wreck. TONE!

I've got a Celestion Gold in my Jackson Ampworks 1x12. It's really my first experience with these. I've always been pretty firmly in the Jensen/JBL camp playing old school Fender amps. I'd tried the G12/V30 in a Z-Best cabinet I had years ago but that was my only Celestion experience. The Gold is a different animal. I think mine still needs some break in time (bought it used) and as such I need to play some music through it soon but I'm enjoying the tone of it! I need to get a second cabinet with a Blue though and give those a shot as everyone speaks so highly of them!

Hand it off to someone else and let them do it. I loaned my newly purchased MAZ 18/Gold to a friend who was giging every weekend for a month. It came back sounding much "rounder" than before.
