"Volume" 101 - one guy with a Hotrod DeVille turns up a bit in an effort to get TONE like a Dr. Z.
Then another guy with aother amp leans over and turns up a bit to compensate and still be heard.
Then the wall of sound begins, and the guy with the sweetest sounding amp starts talking about "cutting through" and "being heard" and "really loud".
I submit that the other guys should be buying Dr. Z's too - ANY Dr. Z's would be a step up for either of them IMHO.
I loved my DeVille 2x12, especially with fresh power tubes in, until I laid eyes and ears on a Stingray - and traded in the DeVille in exactly 8 nanoseconds.
Now we have a 'Ghia, 2 all-Blue Z-cabs, and a Maz Jr. NR on the way.
Any "Z" dialed in properly rocks my world.
My vote - 1st sneak a Keeley in - add punch without cheap pedals - good test.
+1 for taking care of our ears. How mine have survived to 55 is quite - er - "surprising".

maz 38 or hit them with the maz GT.
if you need more than that... tell the other guys to watch their volume.
