Like I need another guitar but I'm thinking about getting a Super Strat. Not a high end but a good playing moderately priced axe to scratch that inner hair metal crave. Any suggestions?

I opted for a (admittedly more expensive) Suhr SSH style "strat" to scratch this itch. However, considering that the original "superstrats" in the '70s/'80s were home-brewed modified concoctions, I'd suggest the proper thing to do is make your own. Maybe start with a very-affordable guitar that shows some promise, and start replacing parts where desired--specifically paying no attention to whether it looks "correct" or pretty.

Those Kramer superstrats from the 80s that started the whole thing are generally quite affordable. Especially if you want a locking tremelo on it. I remember a guitar show around 1987 when I couldn't trade a 1971 Fender Stratocaster for a used Kramer without kicking money in. Luckily I passed and still have the 71.

Not sure your price range. But the new Charvels are really nice, under a grand.

The Charvel/Jackson's from the late 80's are great guitars and you can usually find one for well under $1,000. Like this cool one

I had a S-S-H Carvin made a few years back. Workmanship and playability was very good! Might be a bit more than you want to spend though...
