To me the EQ Bypass with the Volume way up and the Master turned down to warm the tone...level to taste. Should get into Tweed sound. Possibly a new speaker could enhance that feel as well.
Also a reverb, especially a real spring, in the FX loop gets into DR better...the verb softens the signal. Z amps need a little patience at first...they reveal a lot of things not before heard and I had to foray into things I hadn’t because it opened my ears. Other amps were more neutral/nice....they just were there as a platform. Z amps add influence to everything...they add art, musical art....they open up ideas....find weakness....helped me become a better player, with better ears, and more understanding of how my signal is affected by every thing in between my amp and guitar.
I’ve got a Z Verb with my Cure and it feels good.

Sweet tones! Well done. I like #2 the best FWIW. The mystery man comes into the washed out video and delivers a solo!

If you're squashing things down to quiet at-home levels....especially with the level control on the Cure....I'm willing to bet a lot of the dynamics are being lost. Live band volumes is where there could be more of a difference. (at least that's been my experience with other Z amps) My experience too. I generally can crank amps up at home -- within limits -- and there is a point at which Z amps come to life. It is well beyond bedroom level. They sound fine played quietly, but the magic is at higher volume. Me too. I gig my Cure with an 8 pc horn band and 5 pc Country band and it sounds fabulous. I use it as a clean platform and get my dirt from 2 OD pedals. pcns's suggestion for a Nova is a good one (I have a Nova as well), but it's got a LOT more volume on tap if needed. Welcome to the forum BTW!! Great group of folks here!

I have many Z amps and I thought about recommending to you the Cure because of the Level Control. BUT, the Maz Jr. is a great representation for Z. It will do Blackface, Vox, and Marshall. The new version with the new Master Volume allow bedroom levels as well. So, I recommend the Maz Jr. Yes, what Russell said. I have had both, The Cure just never totally did it for me. Good, but not great. The very first Z I ever played through was a Maz 38 and I didn't care for it. I don't know if it was the tubes in that one or I just didn't have it dialed in. Finally took the jump years later on the Maz 18 and I love it. It makes me smile, smile a lot.
