I had just built a new cab with a 10" and a 12" speaker, and I saw these on the Weber sight when ordering speakers. Since I'm so cheap at times, I built my own out of a whiffle ball, some metal banding, and superglue. They work so good I'm positive they're worth the money they're asking for them. Now I need to install them on my combos.

I tried to manufacture my own too, I used a styrofoam ball but the styrofoam cut out more than I wanted, wiffleball, I wish I would have thought of that, I did however think of using banding for the strap, the Weber has a metal disc thats riveted to the strap and the speaker dome material is glued to the disc.

Yeah I was tempted to build one for myself too, but went with the real thang. Here's a pic of the BB installed in my single 12" V30 front-load cab.

There is no negative aspect to these things at all and they're cheap. Win, win!

Put the beam blocker in today on my maz jr 1x12. I didnt have any problems getting the speaker off which I was worried about. I love the way the amp took too it. I was afraid I was going to lose my clarity in the low end but suprisingly it didnt. It really smoothed out the distortion and for clean notes kept it from peircing my ears. Great way to spend 18 dollars.
