What kind of cables are you guys using? I’ve used a bunch over the years, and I love coil cables. I’ve had a few various brands, then bought a Bullet coil cable last spring, and loved it. Problem is, it didn’t hold up too well. In 2019, I will be gigging 1-2x per month. Looking for a coil cable that will really hold up. Suggestions?

Todd here on the Forum makes some great cables (actually it's Patty who makes them). His Forum name is PCNS and he offers a Z-Forum discount.

+ 1 on PCNS Cables. I don't use coily cables, but my straight cables are either PCNS or Mogami.

Reach out to Todd. I'm also about to get a couple of cables from him.

Bullet have been the best coily cables I’ve found. Lava makes them also.
Not a whole lot of options.

Todd’s cables are great - but I don’t think he has coily cables and that is what the OP said he prefers.

I have a pair of Planet Waves cables that have served me really well...no issues. Been using them for around 5 years

If its sound quality, you may want to consider a high capacitance cable. In my experience the coilley cables have high capacitance (this rolls off the top end of your sound and can help smooth out spikey high end). There are more durable options available to get you to that sound. Todd

Todd I like the coily cables for convenience....when I unplug, they coil up pretty good and aren’t laying all over the floor in my music room/rehearsal space. Started using them about 4 years ago, and really liked them. I’ve tried Vox, Lava, and Bullet. Bullet was the best, but the connection at the end didn’t hold up and got staticy/crackly...I bought it in March, so it did last 10 months with light use. I went ahead and ordered another Bullet cable, as well as a regular cable from Rattlesnake/Hank Donovan, but for future gigging, I would still like some other options.

Send me an PM, you can mail them to me and we can take a look at the ends for you and see if they are repairable. If we can fix them for you just pay return shipping and we'll fix them for free for you as a Z forum favor even though they arent our cables.
Merry Christmas, Todd

I've been using PCNS for several years now and they're great. Todd and Patty use top shelf components and their assembly is second to none. I highly recommend PCNS.
