I got this in today from Sweetwater! It really sounds like some of the 335s and other ES guitars that I've played.

Nice! Love my 339, perfect size. Am still trying to bond with the 335, just a big adjustment due to its size.

Nice. I have a 339 and love it. Like Chilly said, perfect size. I'm actually surprised how much gain and volume it will tolerate. Very nice guitar. Enjoy it!
The neck pickup tone on that sucker. Amazing.

That neck pickup reminds me so much of a 335. I've wanted a 335 for a long time, but I worried about the big body transition from my LP, Teles, and Strats. I love the size of this.

My Collings I-35 is probably so close to the 339, I'll probably just consider myself "done" in my semi-hollow search.....there's just something captivating about a 335 tho....ya know?

Now I just need some advice on straps for this guitar! Anthology Wear makes some wonderful straps. I have one for my New Orleans.

That's a beautiful axe, Russell! I really dig the sunburst on this one, it looks great. Is it very heavy? I have a nice 3" wide strap that's suede leather, mady by Levy's. Plain Jane looking, but very comfortable and looks nice against my burst Les Paul. Franklin makes some nice straps too. I've got a 335 that I love playing too, but it is a big guitar and I've been looking hard at one of these beauties...I'm going to have to rebuild my piggy bank after I pay for my incoming '68 Les Paul Custom 50th Anniversary though. Can't wait, I'll be posting pics later this week hopefully. How long are you planning on leaving the protective pickguard film on it?

Dave, it's 7.6 lbs. Not heavy at all. I'm worried about the strap button being on the heal of the back of the guitar. The straps that I have now don't seem to get it with this guitar. I don't like strap locks either. That's the advice that I'm looking for. That film will be off by the end of the week.

I love the looks and sounds of my 335, just can’t seem to make the adjustment due to the size. I want to love it and have posted it on CL, but quickly withdrew thinking I’d kick myself later. Meanwhile, my 339 satisfies the semi hollow itch just fine. Go figure...

I installed Dunlop Dual Design straplocks on them. Not the original Dunlop style. I used the locks for awhile but now I just use the buttons alone. I find them large enough to be secure by themselves. At least they work for me. I don't jump around like I did in my "rock star" days. I like that the strap doesn't stick out in back like it does with the lock on the strap.

One is the rubber rings that go on after the strap:
The other one is this:
The trouble is the second one doesn't work with the oversize strap pins that are on guitars like my Firebird, 335, or Explorer. But just looking at StewMac's website showed me some options that I hadn't seen before.
These look very interesting, I might give them a try.

This 339 has small buttons, which is why I'm worried about it. Thanks all for the suggestions!

I like the size of that semi-hollow 😎 Keith, It's just right! It feels a lot like my Les Paul, but it produces the sound of a 335, or at least the sound of a semi-hollowbody guitar. I was fearful that it would sound more like a Les Paul than a 335, but that fear was squashed quickly! I'm still learning this "Memphis" circuit as it seem completely different than what's in my Les Paul, but I really digging this guitar!

Congrats on the guitar! I love my 339. My had the BB1 and BB2 which I switched out for Lollar Imperials. It was good before but with the Lollars it is on another level. I couldn’t be happier with this guitar and I’m sure you’ll be in a long, long honeymoon with yours.
