I have 2 pedals I could never be without. One is my Tim, but that is not what this thread is about.
The other is my Xotic RC Boost. I think of it as a "fixer" because there have been so many occasions I have used it to tweak another piece of gear that just wasn't quite making it. I've used it juice the front end of backline amps at jams that seemed too bland. I have a Nocaster with stock Custom Shop pickups and sometimes the neck pickup needs some help. It sounds great for some things so I don't want to mess with changing it. I just fix it with the RC. I've gotten a decent traditional jazz tone with several solid body guitars using it. It has a gain knob but it's not for use as a dirt pedal. At least I don't use it that way. I can see where it would be good to push an amp into overdrive. I've used it to push overdrive pedals. It has just had a lot of uses for me.
Anyone else love this pedal? Or do you have a similar "fixer".

I’m on my second RC booster...it is a great platform for anyth7ng you want to put in front of it or after it! Think I’ll keep this one around.

I've had an Xotic RC boost on my board for over 9 years , for the very reasons you state. Fantastic piece of gear in my opinion.

I have 2 fixers. One is my old Klon Centaur. The other is the Beano Boost side of my Analogman Sun Lion. Love these pedals, for many of the same reasons you mentioned for the RC.

A year or three ago I bought an rc boost thinking it would be a mild dirt pedal. When I discovered it didn't give me what I expected ( no fault of the pedal), I shelved it. I tried to sell it earlier this year. Well after our recent move, I pulled it out of storage plugged it in,and am now enamored with the pedal for exactly the reasons you state. I am really diggin this pedal and am so happy it's still with me.

I had an RC and it is indeed a great fixer.
I have 2 fixers that are always-on; Cali76 compressor and Chase Tone Secret Preamp.

The RC has always been on my board for shows since they came out. Very handy for sure. Many of the big name acts and there sound guys are using a couple RC's to dial in what's needed from the board. When watching some of the Rig Rundown youtube videos it was suprising how many are using it on the main stages. It truly is a fixer if needed.

Just curious as to where you guys are placing your RC on your boards to use as a fixer? Thanks...

I’m no guru of pedal boards by any means, so I was wondering how this would differ from a pedal such as the King of Tone with two boost channels and/or a compressor such as the Cali 76? Obviously they have a ton of versatility together to adjust those areas. Would this not be a lot of overlap for someone that has those pedals already on their board or something similar.

goodez: I suppose you could do the same thing with one of those. I like the RC because the two EQ bands seem to be placed in exactly the right place for any correction I need. That negates the need for the 6 to 10 bands in some graphic EQ pedals that are noisier than the RC. With a comp pedal with a blend control you could dial only as much compression as you need. I've done that with my Wampler Ego Comp. It only has one band though and it's purpose is to restore the frequencies lost in compression. That might be what you need.
Bodega Ray: I run the RC between my input buffer and my dirt pedals. I'm more often tweaking the tone of a pick up. Now if I'm trying to help an amp I'll run it last in my chain. Sometimes not even on the board. I'll set it on the amp and run the cable from the board to the RC and then a short patch cable to the amp. My dirt pedals seem to have enough EQ on their own and don't need the RC.
