Any user info on this kit? I'm on a serious P90 bug and have been thinking it might be nice to set one guitar up with noiseless P90's or maybe the the ilitch system.
I don't hate the hum and it isn't a "terrifying" issue. But it might be nice to get that p90 tone without it. If you were going to set one guitar up as a noiseless P90, what would you use? Noiseless single coils or the ilitch system? I'm not sure I understand how the ilitch system works. So any info on the logistics would be equally cool.

I dropped a set of the Dimarzio P90 humbuckers into my Les Paul. I kind of found that if I turned the volume up to 10, their sound matched pretty well. I can't quite remember much else. I just couldn't get use to the look of the double row of pole pieces and finally swapped them back out. I figured if I wanted the P90 sound, I should simply use P90s if the hum wasn't bothering me too much.
I've looked at the Ilitch. Without some good reviews, I'm a little hesitant. I haven't searched for them in a while.
I have Kinmans in my Strat. I really like them although I've never played a Strat without noiseless pickups. I'm kind of afraid to since I don't want to mess with my perception of the Kinmans. However, I just can't bring myself to dropping in their P90s into my Les Paul since, again, if I want the P90 sound, I already have it.
Don't know if all that helps you much.

I had the back plate strat system- And it works but not at all angles. So if your back is to the amp it would be quiet, but if you stand sideways youd hear hum. So it wasn’t perfect. But there are a few different kits So may have different results.

I bought a G&L Legacy last year off of Reverb. When it arrived I did the usual once over re set up, strings, extra's in the case, etc. I found that there was an extra white back plate trem cover but didn't think much of it since there was a plate already on. But when I went to look at the trem springs I found that there were wires attached to the back of the plate and going into the body. It turned out to be the Illitch noiseless system, which wasn't part of the sellers description. Being a big Landau fan I decided to take advantage of it and have the guitar loaded with the Suhr Landau/Fletcher Strat set. It has the great Strat sound with no noise when on the neck, middle, or bridge pups by themselves. I'm not sure I would have spent the $$ on an after market kit, but I can say that it works great for me. The only glitch with the Strat setup is that the middle pickup cannot be reverse wound - it must be non reverse to allow the hum cancelling to work. I just used another neck pickup in the middle and voila! One of our members did the Illitch setup on his Tele a number of years ago and posted a video - it sounded great as well. Looking forward to see what you decide!
