Just unboxed it.. Glorious! Bright and punchy and rich.. super touch sensitive, thick and resonant... surprisingly loud as heck LOL! I have another single-ended class A amplifier... Allen amplification Chihuahua 10 watts running 1x6 L 6 with a Eminence copperhead speaker and David Allen told me that since there's no standby switch and it's s.e class-A, you should turn it off when you step away from it to preserve the tube life. He said single ended Class A, it's like a light bulb, when it's on it's always burning the tube. ( he didn't use the word burning ) Same with this? Mahalo! - Suhr classic T pro, Tokai Love Rock LP, Fender American Dluxe Strat Dr Z Remedy, Fuchs Blackjack 21, Allen Chiquaqua, Dr Z Mini Z

Congrats! I love my Mini Z! As you said, really touch sensitive and sounds great clean and dimed. See my post in that other thread for some speaker info if you’re having trouble with volume. Mini Z with a Red Fang is super loud, but great! I like the cleans best with the RF and like using a Greenback 10 for drive tones. GB is also a much quieter speaker.

My oldest son has one, great sounding amp!
I will add that I have never seen the volume knob set below 10 though . . . . . 🤔

Cool amp. I traded mine away a year or so ago and I've regretted it.

Thanks for the info.. today was the first day I actually got to rehearse with it. I played my shur Telecaster with humbucker in the neck position mostly today. I do a Duo thing with a singer so there was no other accompaniment. She was mic'd and I had the volume around nine and a half or 10 but the attenuator set to full. Really **** loud LOL! But delicious! When I took solos there was just so much sustain and beautiful dirt and drive. I had a really nice OD pedal that I use for a clean boost and I really didn't need it! The Red Fang is really loud. It's a premium speaker and I love the tone. I wouldn't want to do without those chimey highs. You say the Greenback isn't as bright but it's a much tone down speaker. I have a single 12 cab with a celestion creamback in it. I think I'll plug it into that and see what happens :-) it's really a surprising little beast! My remedy has an EQ bypass switch... I'm now seeing the benefit of no EQ circuit. I can't wait to play this thing with a band and be able turn it up. I'm playing out Saturday and then Tuesday and then following Tuesday but it's all the duo thing and I don't think I'm going to be able to really turn it up very much. But even at nine or nine and a half or 10 it sounds fantastic and there's really plenty of breakup and dirt for soloing. All I have to do is open up the volume knob. I don't want to say it... But I think I'm more impressed with this than my remedy. I love my remedy don't get me wrong! One other thing... I plug my Les Paul into it and lot less cleans . The LP sounds like a bison plugged into the mini.. not necessarily A Bad Thing :-) bison is a great sound LOL! Thanks for all the support .. Mahalo :-) man!

Red Fang, Greenback and Gold. He went with the Gold, wasn't as dark as the Red Fang and really sounds great.

Today I have the joy of gigging my brand new dr. Z Mini with Red Fang 10-inch speaker for the first time. Had a little trouble with my neighbor two doors down since I got it keeps texting me to turn it down. Pretty much I have to keep it on about 9 or less with the attenuator on four during my practicing at home but today at the gig with a wonderful singer, singing through PA, me playing through my amp un-mic'd... volume ended up being around 11 and the attenuator crept up from 4 to 3 once we got our volumes and levels straightened out. That's the loudest I've ever played that amp and it was glorious! I played my shur classic T Pro with Telecaster pickup in the bridge position and humbucker in the neck position. Mostly Reverb and delay . Psalm Tunes I put a little phaser on and others tremolo. People in the audience loved the tone! Everyone had a smile on their face when we played Al Green and Etta James Soul Tunes. Beautiful beautiful thing was that I never once needed to step on any Drive pedals! I just increase the volume and I had all The Break-Up and sustain I needed! It was awesome! :-) :-) The humbucker seems to really kick the amp into break up much more than the single coil. I can't wait to bring this app to the Thursday night jam session where there's drums and at least three guitarists LOL, Bass, vocals and keyboards. I see now that if I put the attenuator on zero I'll have a lot more clean Headroom and I can't wait to really crank it and get that roaring dirt! Very happy camper right here!

There's something about Doc's amps that make the guitar jump out at you. They're so alive (As you're finding out)!
I feel bad that you've got sensitive neighbors. I'm blessed in that my neighbors houses are about a hundred feet from mine on the sides, and a hundred yards to the rear. So I can crank my amps and stereo 24/7 without a problem.
