A few months ago, I played a Therapy and I though it was a great amp and master worked really well. I have always wanted a Remedy, so I want to know if the MV on the Remedy works as well as the MV on the Therapy?

I can't speak for the Therapy, but the MV on the Remedy works very well. I still slightly prefer an attenuator instead so I can get output tube distortion. I wish Doc would come up with a 20/10 watt Remedy in a small combo package. I've never used the 40W setting on stage.

I find the MV works well. I also use a BrakeLite to expand my tonal palate. The 20/40 watt switch gives even more variations. ME

I’m going to follow this thread. I have a Therapy I’ve been very happy with but it is a little warmer than I’d prefer. I swapped out the 6L6s for Gold Lion KT66s and like them pretty well too. I have a Brake Lite SA and Remedy on their way this coming week. I scored the #2 prototype of the Antidote this past week, but chose not to hang onto it as the it was not tamable for my situation.

Try a pair of EL 34s in that Therapy. It will brighten it up and give you a little more upper mid grind.

I'm going to have to do that then! Thanks for the heads up!

The master volume works great! I don't know how Doc does it? Whatever he's doing for the master volume circuit is very different somehow. Other amplifier vendors, master volume seems to really thin out the tone and gain. Not so much with the remedy! Are you also have a Weber Mass l i t e attenuator hooked up between the head and the speaker cabinet, just gives me more options. Also, I find a 40 watt setting really good to give me more clean Headroom... As a lot of what I play requires a good clean tone

I was thinking of what amps I have not tried yet, and the Remedy still has not made its way into the house. I prefer 6v6's to El84 and have lusted after this amp since it came out, then the MV was added and I still didn't pick one up. Looking to get into one in early 2020. A 20/10 would be a killer amp for sure, too bad Doc never made any of those.

The master volume on the Remedy is great. I've been using one again most of the summer, and since I play primarily humbucker equipped guitars with a bit of grit the Remedy is great. The Remedy loves humbuckers, both low wind and hotter ones. It's a bit stiffer due to the solid state rectifier which keeps it from getting too mushy. Good with single coils also but if I played a Tele most of the time the DB4 is hard to beat. Keep in mind that a 1/2 power switch doesn't equate to half volume. A 10 watt amp is not necessarily going to the half the volume of a 20 watt amp, and a 40 watt amp will not be twice as loud as a 20 watt amp. My Maz Jr 18 watt with a Gold seemed to be much louder that my 30 watt Therapy with a Creamback. The Remedy on 40 watts is less than 1/2 louder than the 20 watt setting but gets bigger and stronger sounding.
PPIV master volume works really well, especially in the Remedy and the Therapy. I had an older Maz jr that was a great amp but not nearly as good master volume control as the Remedy. I had to adjust all of the settings on that one when changing the master volume. My understanding is the Mk II master volume control is much better.

Thanks, i'm taking a trip to CME on the 5th to try some Z's out again. I want to try the Therapy again as well as the new Nova, but my heart is pulling me to the Remedy.

I've got a Remedy listed in the Buy/Sell forum if interested!

I really don't need another amp, but I have wanted a Remedy since they were released. I've talked about getting a Maserati and I know it would sound great, but I keep turning back to the Remedy.

I had both versions of the remedy and liked the non master volume one better. Maybe because I played mine clean and used pedals for my dirt.
