Well I’ve given up on my Z’s effects loop. I can buffer the highs back but it still loses a tiny bit of backend volume and girth. When I try and clean boost that little bit that’s lost back in, it’s just not the same. Either I’ve never had this issue with other amps or never heard it before (maybe my critical listening is improving)
I still love my Cure but just prefer that my boost come from the loop (instead of the front end) if possible. Not so with the Cure.
Anyone else hearing this issue?

I am finding a slight volume dip in the loop (even when going directly from send to return) In addition to volume loss, when I add a buffer it adds the high end back but also gooses the signal. A buffer in the loop thickens the mid/lows and makes the signal feel less real, less organic, and less warm
doesn't matter how much (or little resistance) I add or if I add or subtract "drag" to the buffer...
I use a Flint with my Cure, and I do notice some loss if I put it in the loop. Sometimes I just live with it ad use the eq to compensate, but at the end of the day it sounds better in the front end. I don't have a problem with the passive loop design, I just figure that's less circuitry to get in the way of the signal path within the amp, the simpler the better.

GuitarZ: Needed some noise to fill a break in a tune I'm recording. It was too quiet. Just happened to have some High Quality Dr Z Ghia noise to fill the void. "Heal Your Sound with Dr Z! It's not just a guitar tone prescription!"

GuitarZ: Must be great to be a skunk. Eating bird food about 10' from our sun room. I'm clapping and yelling. At best, it might have given me one "yea what?" look while continuing to dine. At one point, there were two skunks and two racoons.

easyed: Guitar Z, I encountered to ultimate garbage raiding combo once. We'd been having problems with the garbage cans being raided by raccoons for weeks. Late in the evening I heard rattling at the cans. I went out and found that he'd allied with a skunk. "OK"
