Has anyone tried the wreck with a pair of greenbacks? I would think the 98db rating would help with controlling volume. And to me, greenbacks are 'in the ballpark' when it comes to the tone of blues/golds.
And what about the 'heritage' greenbacks at 96db? That would help even more!

I tried one as a single 12 and have to say it was meh and I generally like green backs. Tried it open and closed back. Now it did like a ceramic silverbell and bluedog alone and as a pair. I'm generally not an alnico guy, so it was a ceramic version of the blue and gold that the 212 has. I like the tighter low end of the ceramics.

With other amps (and identical cabs) I never heard a lot of difference, but I hear a surprising amount of difference between my 2X12 Celestion Blues cab and Celestion Greenbacks cab with the Z-Wreck (a little less difference with a DB4.) My Blue cab does everything I want it to, and the Greenbacks were disappointingly woofy/bassy/flaccid in my room and took some of the "wreckness" out.

I have a 1968 Slant Marshall 4x12 with G12H30 bass cones. Everything I play through it kills including the Zwreck
Of course you lose a bit of chime but the girth comes thru in spades Cheers!

Back in the early 2000 I had a friend who was a Dr Z dealer and I was really fond of the Z best cab 2x12
I bet that cab would sound cool with the Z Wreck anybody try that?
I'm new here so this may have been covered...
Cheers!
