I was intrigued by some clips I saw about the Speaker Cranker OD from Earth Quaker Devices. I couldn't help myself...I ordered one. Have any of you got one? What do you think about it?

Just what I need, GAS for another OD pedal.
I thought we were friends Dave!

I used to have one of these. A good, simple (one knob, like that) and very good sounding light overdrive. Can be a little bright sometimes in certain configurations though.

This could be the most important pedal on my board. Using this in conjunction with the Z Drive expands the tonal abilities of my Z28
It allows for a slight overdriven sound or an over the top tonal boost. It works well by its self or with other pedals. As simple as it seems i use it a lot

It came today and so far I dig it. I think it's going to work best at the end of my OD chain rather than before other OD / Distortion boxes. It adds a great flavor and just the right amount of volume. I tried it in front and it pushes the other drives in a not so good way and it is easy to go overboard. More testing is needed, I've been practicing all day (imagine that...thanks BW for the inspiration!) and my ears are shot for the day.

Spent the afternoon trying different combinations and for me the Speaker Cranker is going at the front of the board, right after the wah and EP Booster. I don't know what I was thinking last night, my ears must have been on overload. If I put it after higher gain pedals, it just sounds louder, and the noise factor is way worse than if it's before higher gain boxes. At the front it's much quieter and has a very cool effect on goosing the bigger guns so I can set their gain lower and get that sweet bite that I love. I'll know more after a few gigs but so far I think it's a really nicely voiced low gain drive. One knob, simple. The volume tracks the OD boost just right too, so you really don't need a volume control for it. Cool.
