Warning: Yes... another Z-Plus thread gushing over how great this amp is. I delivered a speaker cab to Jaguarguy (Mike)'s house yesterday and got to play with some of his latest toys--a wonderful treat for those who are lucky enough to visit the muZeum (thanks, Mike!). Anyways, I notice that his new-ish Z-Plus has taken the prime "living room" spot upstairs, but didn't think much of it and headed downstairs to play a couple new guitars & amps, etc. After all, I was certain that the Z-Plus wasn't really something suited to my needs--probably very nice sounding, of course, just not for me. <fast forward about an hour, and head back up to the living room> HOLY ***** ****. Are you kidding me? This amp sounds amazing clean, it sounds amazing overdriven, it does quiet, it does loud, it's totally portable... What the hell can't this amp do? Granted, I was playing his sweet "new" root-beer-finish Heritage H150CM Ultra, but I'll be damned if that Z-Plus didn't handle--nay, excel--at whatever I threw its way. Yikes! Doc's still got it, y'all. In fact, he's at the top of his game. Am I already picking colors and thinking about how it would fit into my small amp collection? Yes... yes, I am.

Thanks for dropping the cab off yesterday Mark! Always fun going through some of the amps with Z-bros. You can see why it has taken over the #1 spot in the house.

Yeah. It's an awesome amp. Doc builds great stuff. Always has. His stuff is just getting better. The Zplus is proof. I can play clean, or get some stinging raw rocking blues tone, or a smooth fat lead tone, up to 80's collesuem rock. No pedals needed. Next time you hit the muZeum, see if Mike will let you plug it into a 412. Just turn every knob all the way up and prepare for something pretty special. I have the studio combo. Super portable. If it's ever offered as a head I'll buy one immediately.

Awesome amp is an understatement! I've been gigging my Plus for the past few months in lieu of my trusted Maz 18 Nr. I play in mostly small venues and could never open up the Maz to it's full potential so I took a chance on the Plus and I couldn't be happier. This past Saturday my band opened up for "big name" act at an outdoor venue with a crowd of about 350 people and I ran the plus on half power (miked of course) and it sounded amazing! I was approached after the first set by a number of guitar players wanting to know what amp I was using. After our last set the sound tech who was hired for the weekend event said he never heard better tone and was easy to mix. I do have a confession though. I never have been a fan of combos. I tried the Plus in it's original form as a combo but I just felt something was missing. So I converted the combo to a head and I built a 1x12 cab using the Z 12 speaker that came with the combo. Bingo! Perfect! Love my rig!
