Like most of you guys I'm sure, I have oodles of pedals hiding all over the place. I was thinking about getting some sort of rack to house them in my studio room. Anyone got any ideas?
I was thinking towards some sort of tower like the old CD racks, but for pedals. If you got an idea, or picture lets hear / see it!
I'm only interested in free standing things but any info is welcome.

Lots of guitar places are using older curio cabinets. Glass shelves.... Like how grandma used to showcase collections back in the day.

I'm thinking about redoing my music rooms in early American Ikea. Maybe cover the walls in shelving like their Ivar system, so I can have a place for everything and forestall the next occasion of piles of stuff everywhere and not being able to find anything.
As with any "some assembly required" furniture, it's good to read the reviews. I'm somewhat skilled at simple carpentry, but I may save time and money by building my own.

I seen a video of Steve vai s studio at his home- He had like a hutch type cabinet. But when open it had shelves angled like shoe racks. But with pedals neatly in rows. And all visible. Simple but effective!

I really like the Husky rolling tool boxes. I've got 3 of them at the studio for all kinds of stuff. Microphones, headphones, cables, guitar stuff, computer stuff and tools too! 3 drawers of pedals in one of them.

Nick Up until 2 1/2 months ago I had my pedals in 2 illuminated curio cabinets and it looked great. i don't have pics as they are lost in the Photobucket void! These were the bigger floor-standing inits. Looked like a boutique pedal shop! However, I'm finalizing the redux of the Man Cave and just this week I ordered a new solution. Funny that roscoenyc posted when he did. I wanted something to store pedals & stuff as well as act as a computer stand. So, I ordered a rolling tool box from SPG International (they also make the Husky boxes) with a wooden top. This one is from their Tech series so more small drawers and not big ones for big tools. There are four 3-inch high drawers and two 4 1/6 inch high drawers that will accommodates many pedals (as roscoe has already stated). Either solution works great.

OMG, now we're combining guitar gear PLUS tools? This might get flagged as pornography pretty soon...

Simple but effective! I just googled shoe racks and see tons of options that would work great for pedals. Thanks for the tip. Got some shoe rack shopping to do!

I like the tool box ideas too. Any problems with rattling or anything when playing loud?

Cool ideas. But if you're going to "show off" the pedals, where are you gonna store the boxes? You guys do keep the boxes and instructions, don't you?

I don't have mine yet but the 42" model I'm getting is 175 lbs empty...so, I expect the same experience as roscoe.

Nice. That gives me ideas.....
I should start a gear box company and make Tolex covered tool boxes with flamed maple tops!

I kind of dig this critter from Ikea--looks like it came out of a 1940s doctor's office. www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/20400573/My problem is that the minute I decide I'll never use a pedal at a gig, I sell it--so my inventory that's not stuck to a board is usually pretty skimpy. A few good things, and a bunch of junk that's not worth selling. If I ever really started to collect in earnest, though, I'd get me one of these and maybe stick some lighting in it.

That's an Apricot wheat ale in the pic.....but a nice IPA happened just before that one😎 Yeah, the pedal storage aspect turned out better than expected. Man, I still have a lot of room for pedals. May have to buy one to christen the room. I was surprised, though, as I never really considered myself an overdrive/boost guy but I have a full drawer. lots of real estate in a cabinet this size for a reasonable person/collection.

Great idea. If I had room for such a thing, I'd use that top for changing strings and adjusting truss-rods, and keep strings, tubes, guitar tools, etc. in those drawers on the right.
