Hi! not a Dr Z owner yet but hoping to change that soon. I have a line on an old Maz 38 Studio Deluxe with an an Eminence Texas Heat installed, and as it's an older model there's not much out there in the way of youtube clips or demos. How similar is it to the current Maz 38s in basic sound? Was the only difference in the Invasion, Deluxe, and Lead the speaker configurations?
Mainly looking for something with big, rich, chimey cleans. Had originally planned to get a Fender 65 Deluxe Reverb RI but am hoping this will satisfy that craving with better tone and reliability. Mainly count on pedals for drive and I play post-rock/shoegaze/dreampop stuff (read: lots of pedals, delays, modulations) so I just want great cleans right now.
thanks!

Here's a thread about the different Z amps. Make sure it is a Maz 38 Studio - I have an RX labeled as as 38 Studio (the actual Maz 38 has full EQ and probably reverb). Any of the 38s you listed will work for you as Lind as you have a higher efficiency speaker (or a 2x12 extension cab š). ztalk.proboards.com/thread/79105/amp-descriptions-sound-clips

I don't know anything about the 38 Studio Deluxe, but i've had my 38 Sr. NR for quite some time now and have played in a few different bands with a wide range of genres. The 38 is amazing!! It's a really unique amp in the sense that it can do sooo much, and do it REALLY well. Most "Swiss army knife" style amps usually cover a lot of ground, but don't do them all super well. Well, the 38 i've found to be an amp that can seriously do it all. Oh, and welcome to the forum!!
