After living outside of the US for a while, we recently moved back to California and since getting back I've been looking to pick up a Carmen Ghia again. Yesterday, bingo! One popped up on CL about 3 miles from where I live and today the deal is done - $750 for an early green jewel Ghia with a Celestion Blue! Great deal, huh? I have a couple of questions: 1. Can anyone help me date the amp? The serial number is R-71276. 2. I'm going to need an attentuator. Is the Dr Z Brake Lite the best attentuator for the amp? Any other recommendations? Thanks in advance for your help ------------------------------------- Here's the amp about to the head home.

Congratulations, you're the owner of a ca. 2007 model Ghia according to the Z amp dating page. Enjoy the combo and the blue. With that I'd forego the attenuator and just play it. Welcome back. I recently rejoined ownership myself with an R s/n Ghia 2/10.

The R definitely makes it a 2007. The 7 is the model number designation for the Ghia, the 1276 is the 1,276th Ghia doc has made. They are definitely great sounding amps! Congrats!

You picked up a Ghia combo with a blue...only three miles from your house....for only $750??
Yeah...that's a DEAL! Wow that's a deal!
You have enough money left over to get a brake lite. Yes, they're very good. Especially for the price.

Brake lite will work fine .. the difference with the Air Brake is the Bedroom setting. I miss my Ghia regularly. Congrats! Great score.
