So I was setting up last night at a gig and went to test everything before soundcheck and my variable boost pedal was not doing anything. So I played with the level knob on the pedal for a while trying to hear a difference and nothing when clicking the pedal on and off. The boost was just on all the time, which sounds pretty good and that’s how I left it for the night but Ideally I’d like to turn it off occasionally. When I unplug the boost from the amp then the tonestack controls come back into play.
I opened up the pedal and there was nothing obviously wrong, no broken leads or any tension where the cable enters the housing. I’m wondering if there is a simple way to test the parts, I do have a potentiometer but don’t really know what I’m looking for at what leads. I’m guessing it’s the footswitch itself. Is it even worth investigating, i.e. are the replacement parts hard to find? Should I just order a new one? The pedal has not seen a ton of use, I’ve had the amp about two years but the boost has really only seen maybe 100-150 hours of use and I don’t switch it that often.
I tried again this morning and same behaviour so I doubt it’s a short in the cable since that would likely be intermittent.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
UPDATE: It’s in the end of the cable where the jack is, right in the thick part before the jack. If I hold it just right I can switch the pedal on and off... So I guess I need a new cable, any ideas?

Here is the “fix” if anyone else has this issue :-)...

All you need is a new 1/4 " jack. Cut the cable back about 6 " from old jack, then strip it and solder on a new jack, try a right angle jack less chance it gets broken.

Thanks Mike! I don’t know why I don’t think of this kind of stuff right away. ps. I’m sure you know this but this is a truly great sounding amp, especially bypassed with a z-drive in front. I have some other really good amps but the Z-Lux is my go-to amp for gigging. *edit* I finally got a right angle jack, looks much better:
