Well, not so much my math but rather my reasoning.
If clicks 1-4 on the BL equal attenuation levels of 2db, 5db, 8db and 11db respectively and you install a BL in a combo with a 102db efficiency speaker, then wouldn't going to 3 clicks on the BL have the same effect on amp volume as changing to a 94db efficiency speaker and so on up and down through the clicks?
It makes sense to me, which is why I wanted to double check. Maybe I'm being too simplistic?

Makes sense to me...sounds very logical....but then again ...what do I know??? Ask Phil, Justin, or Frank...or of course, Doc....

Makes sense to me, too... That seems to compute, both in my head and from practical experience. We'll see if more-qualified professionals can confirm what's happening, though.

That makes mathematical sense BUT, different EQ characteristics of different speakers will make us hear them differently which can effect their "perceived" volume. Especially in a band mix.

More input! Is this actually real?
