I just installed one in my Cure. I haven't gigged it yet, but I already like the weight savings. I had a C-Rex in it and the Lil guy has basically the same voice and efficiency. Lookin forward to rehearsals and gigs next month.

Looking forward to hearing how it works out for you, Lou. That's one of the things I dig about the Cure, it's small, lightweight, and has smokin' great tone. How did the C-Rex work out compared to the Z-12?

I'm curious how you like it. I recently tried the Lil' Texas in a boutique American combo of mine--loved the weight savings AND the tone! Definitely wish I'd tried neo speakers earlier, not sure what I was worried about. (It's totally within the zone of all other speakers: ceramic, alnico, etc.)

How did the C-Rex work out compared to the Z-12? I felt the C-Rex had the same basic voice as the Z-12, but added nearly 3db increased efficiency Dave. The Lil Texas gives back about a half db from the Rex, but I don't think that will be an issue. So far, it sounds very much like the Rex (and the Z). Any small difference in the tone of the speaker should be easily dialed in with the fabulous Cure tone stack. More to come after rehearsals/gigs!

I’ve had the Lil Texas in my Cure for a month or so and just got in from playing a variety job with it tonight.
Granted, it probably needs some more break-in time (right now, it’s probably got 25 hours on it, including the job tonight), but to my ears it presents a pretty complete sound, that is, I don’t hear any spikes or overemphasis at any frequency. My settings are Tnoon M11 B1, so there are no extremes set before the signal is presented to the speaker.
I’m not finished evaluating it, by any means, but thus far, I’m pretty happy with this speaker in the Cure.

One of my favorite speakers. I've had one in my Cure for a few months and it's worked great for me.

A couple of months ago I got one of the 'Lil Texas neo speakers and put it in my Cure. It was great for the weight savings but I found myself not playing the Cure as much as I used to. I started experimenting again tonight and...drum roll...ended up putting the stock Z-12 back in. To my ear it sounds bigger somehow, something goes on in the upper mids of the Z-12 that I missed with the 'Lil Texas. Later this week I'll try it out in some other amps but for now, the Cure is back to stock. I don't know how Doc does it, the man's got an ear for making an amp sound like I want it to!
