I've used aluminum flashing before. It worked fine. You may already know this but don't attach it with anything that can vibrate loose and cause a short. Things like staples or nails.

Ahhhh...good advice. Strange, I actually thought that doc used staples for his...I'll have to check my Maz when I get home.
Any worry about the adhesive not being conductive?

Well, I don't care if ANYBODY uses things like that and hasn't had a problem. I've worked on two amps that had shorts because they worked their way loose. Why take any chance. I've used contact cement and that worked OK. It was probably Pliobond. I also held the center in place with the blind nuts for the handle.
