What's the difference between the different vintages of the Carmen Ghia? I know the originals were built on a Hammond foundation and pretty quickly Doc re-designed it and built it into his own chassis. That's got to make a big change. And fairly recently he went from a 12AX7 & a 5751 to a pair of 12AX7s. So when I read about guys liking different year releases, it raises the question. Were there changes in the circuitry over the years, different transformers, etc?

Boy I'd love to see an in-depth explanation of this myself.
I've always heard there have been rolling changes in the Ghia over the years but what exactly were they and when did they occur? Most of what usually gets put out there seems to be educated conjecture.
Would it be a suitable topic for an AMA, or maybe not enough interest in it?
Edit: Wait, the Doc already did that. I need to get out more!

we need a comprehensive guide on how the different color jewel lights affects the tone. Absolutely. I love the green ones but the purple has something in the initial note attack that is so alluring, something so special, that no tube or speaker change could create. I'll let you take the point on that one, Poodle!
