I recently bought a Cure amp. I also recently took in a 6 month old really tiny (declawed) kitten that was left out by the road. This morning I couldn't find her. When I finally did she was sleeping in the back of my amp.
While it was funny it also seems possibly bad for her health: Would a piece of hardware cloth that's vinyl be ok to use. I already have noticed the Cure gets Hot . So while I need to block her getting in there. I also want to make sure I don't cut off to much air flow . And or sound. Any suggestions would be great.
do realize I could let it cool down and put it close to a wall. That's an inconvenience I'm hoping to avoid. Unless it's unwise to cover the back with something lightweight and breathable.

Get a studio slip cover for the amp. Cover when not in use, remove while playing. Should be a good fix.

Agreed that would be a good fix : Problem is I'm more concerned she climbs in while I'm playing. It's a dumb baby cat . Like a Little kid that moves fast when you take your eyes off them. Unlike some Cats she doesn't seem to be bothered by the noise. It actually gets her attention

Gotcha. I’d get a metal mesh then and use washers to attach it to the regular screws you already have on the back of the amp. No harm mod that can be easily reversed once the cat gets older.

You're a good soul to take in an orphan kitten.

You're a good soul to take in an orphan kitten. It's a life : In 18 years of living in the country have taken in 32 Cats and 4 dogs . All but one are still alive Plus this latest . Obviously dropped off to die. No claws ???and a really tiny runt to boot? People who don';t value an animals life seem to have no values : At the very least they should drop them at shelters

I would be willing to bet every Z amp I own than no domesticated animal would ever crawl into the back of an amp while it is being played! Unless, of course it is deaf! I wouldn't be in a big hurry to bet! Animals are all unique and don't always follow their assigned stereotypes. [Kinda like people maybe?] I'd bet that one of my cats would do it, given half a chance. I rescued her from a boatyard where she grew up around motors being run out of water with tractors and front end loaders all around. She loves noise, especially loud rock n' roll! She comes running at the first sign of any loud music or noise and is afraid of nothing and nobody. She even loves my 11 shrieking grandchildren, who normally send our other cats into the witness protection program. I'm thinking about buying a Roomba and teaching her to ride it. I think it'd be a big hit on Youtube. You just never know. Yeah I hear yah. She's dead now but we had a cat that showed up when she was around 1 year old. First blood test revealed she had Feline Leukemia. They wanted to put her down right that day. She ended up living 14 healthy years. She loved Vacuums . Her favorite was to have her face vacuumed with one of those loud Tank Vacuums. Used to suck her whole head in almost. The Common thing for a cat would be to run as soon as they see a vacuum. Had another male cat that loved to go in the Car. He'd follow me wherever I went and mind just like a Dog. SO finding this little runt inside of My NEW (1 day old) Amp comes with concerns. I Found a Piece of Vinyl mesh with 1/4 inch spacing squares : Works perfect. My only concern would be cutting off Air flow to the AMP . It sets on top of the back panels . I used a piece of siding trim that it clips on loose. But covers the hole great. Just so long as it doesn't get to warm and provides ventilation I should be good.

Noise aside, you don’t want her in there next to those hot tubes! That could get real ugly real quick, especially if she struggles to get out in her haste. Maybe roll up a blanket and stuff in the bottom such that there is no room for her to get in there. Might also give some cabinet damping!

My ex-wife brought home a runt kitten one day. She was really pitiful looking with not much fur. The vet said she would probably have health problems and a shortened life. 18+ years later the wife is gone but I still have the cat and she is doing fine. She used to run when I flicked the switch on my amp because she knew what was coming. Nowadays the noise doesn't even bother her. It's funny how they adapt.

YEah I thought about what they call hardware cloth > The stuff I found is similar to that only it's more like Black screen type material . only with Bigger slots. Attached as described above. She's already trying to figure out how to get in it . Cute little **** but what a pest. Kinda nice someone took he claws out.

Animals don't always do what you'd think would be the logical thing. A snake got into our basement last year, and had probably been in there anywhere from several days to a week without being detected, but my wife discovered it coiled around one leg of the dehumidifier, while it was running. I would have thought the vibration and noise would be something it would NOT be attracted to, but out of all the possible hiding places.... Your kitty is unique...most would go running when the amp starts talking.

What you need to do is get a cheap guitar case and leave it open. Maybe throw a folded up bath towel in it for extra padding. I haven't seen a cat yet that wasn't attracted to sleeping in a guitar case. I can't explain why. I've always had to keep them closed to keep the cats out so it didn't collect cat hair. Those same cats would just ignore the beds I bought at a pet store for them. Also my cats liked to sleep on anything that had my smell on it so you might try rubbing the towel on yourself.

Pretty similar to what I have right at the moment . Only mine is a rigid plastic : I noodled around for 2 1/2 hrs yesterday and the material didn't get hot . Only thing is it's white : Would like to find it in black.
