Hi everyone, This may seem dumb, but I have no idea how to switch from the tube rectifier ( my amp is loaded with a GZ 34) to the solid state rectifier ( is it the ‘ blue can’ next to the rectifier tube?) If not, what do I have to do, and will bias have to be readjusted? Thanks in advance, and tons of tone!

You can use a compatible solid state rectifier that looks like a plastic puck with tube pins. It plugs into the same socket where your rectifier tube is now. You will need to have the amp rebiased. You could use the opportunity to change tubes while you're at it, since the KT-45 ships (or should I say shipped) with JJ's in its most recent incarnation, and they are not too expensive.
I knew the KT-45 was discontinued and then brought back, but I must have missed where it was discontinued again. Seems like it must have been fairly recently?

Any advice on the SS rectifier? I bought it second hand, but I was told that the tubes still have 80% of life in them ( and yes, they are JJs), so that’s why I’m not planning to retube the amp, they sound fine to me. I don’t know exactly when the KT was discontinued, but I don’t think it was more than three or four years ago. Some of the forum wise men may shed some light on this. Thanks again, Tons of tone!!

I used the solid state rectifier from the Tube Depot because it was cheap and easy to find. You will have to rebias.
