So, the other day my 16 year old son asks about having a rehersal with a drummer prospect he met at our Homeschool group. He got permission to use our church sanctuary and to use the drum set and he was ready to go. We recently set him up with a pedal board that has a MI Crunch box and a Soul Food dirt boxes on it. I told him he could use my Z lux and off he went. I was very curious how well this amp would do with his style of music. He worked on a "A Day to Remember" song with the drummer and the amp actually sounded great playing Metal. Actually, I think it sounded better than great, it did a nice job of handing a lot of distortion from the pedal but managed to keep the bottom end tight so it didn't super flabby. The top end sounded great. So, don't be shy with this amp. Go ahead and pick up your favorite humbucker guitar, drop tune to C#, crank up the distortion and let 'er rip!! I have video but was asked not to share it That will come later!!

Love my Z-Lux, and you're right; it handles heavy distortion beautifully. I had my Bogner Red Ecstacy pedal hooked up to mine the other day and it rips!

That Crunch box is real good. Works great with Z's. I used one years back with my MAZ, it was awesome. I've used it with my JAZ too. Does a great 80's hot rodded sound. I have a Friedman Runt 50, so not much use for pedals these days, but i remember that MI Audio pedal worked better than any other especially with Z's.
