Hi all, just picked up my Z lux used, I love it. Wondering what your standard settings are on the controls? I play blues, Dead tunes, also some jazz. Wondering what you have found to be the ultimate setting?

Try it with the preamp and master at 2 o'clock.

For me, it depends on the guitar. Mostly, I start with Mid at noon and tweak the other knobs. With most single coils, I tend to end up with Treble below noon, sometimes as low as 9 (using the "o'clock" metaphor). There's quite a bit of interaction -- some of it in one's hearing -- among the tone controls and the level of the Volume knob.
Another thing I often end up doing is leaving the (variable) eq bypass engaged with the pot on the foot switch a little below midway. Since the tone controls are only partially bypassed, you can still make adjustments.
Do some "crazy" things with the settings. You never know what fun things you'll discover. Hard to get a bad sound, but not all sounds may be useful for you.

All knobs at noon sounds flippin' amazing and if'n you need a little more, crank the mid knob all the way up!
