I sold my Ghia recently, but when I did gig it I had to use drive pedals, as I rarely got the amp up loud enough to just use the guitar's volume pot. That surprised me at first as I was hoping for the guitar-cable-amp approach, but I ended up using my usual KOT with maybe a bit of boost from the KTR, (now for sale). Xotic BB/RC combo worked well too. That was with the Doc's 2x10 cab, but I never tried it with a less efficient speaker such as a single 12" Creamback which I'm using now.
