I watched this last night - great stuff. I still think it is a bit strange that some of the best amps ever designed and created came from a non-guitar player (no drummer jokes here). I also love these videos in the fact that the Doc answers questions I would never get to ask in person!

Glad you guys dig the AMA's. I do enjoy making them. I'll continue into 2018, just keep the questions coming.

Take something cool, add a twist and make it your own. That just about sums up the Ghia

I also love these videos in the fact that the Doc answers questions I would never get to ask in person! The story goes that Leo Fender -a lifelong non player - used to just clang on the strings with a screwdriver while setting the eq of any given amp.But like Doc (Joe Walsh,Brad Paisley) he listened to the needs and wants of musicians useing his gear, and adjusted the operating parameters to suit the average player better.

I really enjoy the storytelling aspect of these videos. Doc, you've got a way of explaining things that come across well whether you're a non-technically inclined guy or an EE. I love your humility and the way you share your knowledge and experience. Keep 'em coming and Happy New Year to you too, Doc! -Dave

I think this is by far the best video in this series. Even after all of the great amps Doc has released recently the CG is the one that interests me most. If I buy another amp it will probably be this one.

I agree: Doc's best AMA to date. All have been good, but this CG episode went "from good to great". You've set yourself a high standard for 2018 AMAs, Doc!

Imagine if you were building amps and the Carmen Ghia was the first amp you made?

He was trying a few of my amps and asked what the little one was (an original 50 Ghia). I told him to plug it into a 1x12 shorty cab loaded with a gold and he was amazed! Couldn't believe that sound was coming out of that little Ghia! He's on the look out for one now!
