I went to Chicago Music Exchange today to look for an amp to add to my collection of vintage Fender amps to dip my toes into the boutique/newer amp world. The Therapy won wholeheartedly. I'm a pedals guy, and with this amp I can run it clean with a gain pedal (what I do with my old Fenders) or turn it up and get a nice Tweedy drive. I love the amp. I mostly play classic rock and modern country (read: classic rock, not the chicken picking stuff hehe) and I think this amp fits so well. I just got it home and I think it sounds fabulous. I'm using an Avatar cab for now, but the idea is to get a Z cab at some point in the future. See, I'm a huge Joe Walsh fan. I first started playing guitar because of the solos on the Eagles' song "Hotel California" - Don Felder and Joe Walsh going toe to toe. I'm more in Joe's camp - not as technical, more of straight blues player selftaught guy at heart. So I've known for years that Joe loved Z amps and I felt I just HAD to try one! I wasn't disappointed. So add another to the Z club! -Austin/gibsonguitar1988

Cool, what speaker are you running in the Avatar? Open back or closed? Looks like the way I set my tone controls up on mine, I have a Z 1x12 open back, V30.

I swapped out my creamback for a Z-12 with favorable results. If you're in Chicagoland as I and are interested in a Z-Best cabinet, I have been thinking about selling mine. Sorry to derail the thread, but you mentioned the desire for a Z cabinet.
Congrats on the new Z and welcome to the club.

I will look into the Z-12 also. I'll send you a message if I decide I want to go that route. I'm actually not in Chicago, today was about a 4 hour journey, I live in Central Illinois.

I also like that the price isn't outrageous compared to other boutique/handwired amps. I played one today that was pushing $3k but didn't hit me like the Z Therapy did.
