I always loved being a side man. I've had some strange gigs.
Good documentary.

I just watched this on Saturday. Never knew Billy Joel was such a richard...
I've had the pleasure of knowing Jason Hook for many years, he's about as solid a guy as they come. I also have a whole new respect for Alice Cooper after seeing that...

I watched this last week. I have to admit, I became less of a Billy Joel fan. I like watching it, but it really bothered me too. I felt bad for those musicians.

I almost turned if off during first 10 minutes because i didn't think i was going to be able to withstand the onslaught of boastful metal guitarists but it was worth sticking it out for some of the other segments.

While I can appreciate the talent, one can only take so much weeeeely weeeely screeech.

I watched it too. It was fun to watch. But WAY to heavy on Liberty DiVito and the BJ backup band. It's as if they made the show with just the handful of people they could get to interview.
They completely ignored other genre's of music. The film makers apparently had connections in the metal world.
Nothing about country music hired guns.
Still...it was fun to watch. And at least they got people who can speak without sounding 'Spinal Tap-ish'.

I enjoyed it. I like most music documentaries, good to hear the "behind the scenes" of it all.

Watched it a couple of evenings ago. Pretty good documentary. Some outstanding players I'd never heard of. Billy Joel came over as an a**hole. Alice Cooper is definitely one of the good guys.

I haven't seen it but I've been hearing about the Billy Joel stuff. I think it may be sort of one sided thing between him and Liberty because I know a couple guys who have played with him, a couple people on his crew plus a couple other people who've had first hand interactions with him and all of them have super positive things to say. I'm just sayin'

I though it was just okay. I wished it was a little less Headbangers Ball and more Steely Dan or maybe Nashville or even Motown.
