So my Supro Thunderbolt 1x15 combo is my at home practice amp and a couple days ago I noticed when I crank it, as soon as stop playing, there's a scratching sound, like a bad cable type sound. I play straight in, and its not the cable from the guitar to amp, and I've narrowed it down to the speaker cable. It's the "pancake" type plug, the screws are tight, but the plug itself, the 1/4" shaft or whatever you call it, is loose. It turns and wiggles around, doesn't come out, I don't know how its made so I have no idea how to get that tighter in there? I figure that the scratching comes from when I play loud, that 15" speaker is vibrating the cable making it fizz.

Replace it. It's just 2 solder points.

Replace it. It's just 2 solder points. Now the only thing holding me back is my lack of knowing how to solder or trusting myself to not screw it up

You could pay a tech to replace that plug but you can buy a whole new cable comparable to what you have for less than $10. It will probably have a molded plug but there is nothing wrong with that. You can also get a replacement from vendors like Monster Cables and pay up to, well as much as you want to. You don't need that. If you can't find one try contacting Todd at Pro Cables N Sound. He can make a custom one for you at a reasonable price. It WILL be all you will need.

What zpilot says is so so true. Don't buy into snake oil cables. Just buy one pre made and replace the thing. Just don't be ham fisted when you replace the slide on connector at the speaker; take a pair of light pliers and gently remove the old one, slide the new ones into place, noting polarity, and you'll be good to go. For that matter, you could just cut a speaker cable that has a 1/4" plug on both ends, crimp on some slip on connectors for the speaker end, and then you'll have two cables, keep one for a backup.
