I've been playing a Maz 18 for sometime. Expecting delivery of a Therapy head tomorrow. Excited about putting the new Z through the paces. Will be checking the board for suggestions regarding pedals, tubes, settings and the like. When I get a chance to record using the Therapy I'll post some audio.

Therapy is a great complement to your MAZ. I've been playing mine a lot lately. The tone has a richness to it that I think you'll hear pretty quickly. Tone stack seems, to me, to operate at different frequency "centers" than the MAZ. My approach has been to use Mid, Vol and Master to get most of what I want and then tweak B and T to season. YMMV, of course.
Congrats!

Great amp, It's my desert island amp!
Lots of options to make that amp react differently, I haven't gone through the tubes because I like the 6L6's, but irreversal and others have tried the KT77 or whatever their designation as well as the 6 v 6's.
Highly underappreciated work of art!

Will be checking the board for suggestions regarding pedals, tubes, settings and the like. When I get a chance to record using the Therapy I'll post some audio. My Therapy is the best amp purchase I’ve ever made. I’ll have other Z amps just because it would be nice to own as many Z’s as possible before Doc retires lol. I believe your research needs to focus more on speaker selection over tube selection. I found a speaker that I really love, but that’s just me and it might not be your cup of tea. Speakers affect tone in a more obvious way compared to tubes. I have always liked 6L6 so I’ll stay there. Your Therapy should take pedals very well. I run an SP comp, carbon copy delay, Blues Driver, Paisley Drive and tuner. I have no issues with pedal to amp. My settings haven’t changed in LONG time: master-above 2 o’clock when possible, bass-9 o’clock, mid-all the way up (dimed), treble-about 2 o’clock, volume-9-9:30. I play a tele and this works best for me. There was a time I accidentally had my mids set at about noon and I wondered why my amp wasn’t cutting and wasn’t as sparkly as it normal was. I corrected the mids, cranked them back up and was back in the game. Your gonna find that Therapy mids is like no other amp. I think it should have been given another name other than mid. For what it’s worth I had a Maz 18r and sold It to finance my Therapy. For me this is a better fit. I was missing the fullness of those big bottle tubes.

Congrats! The mid knob is where the you’ll get the most versatility. Excellent amp for pedals too. I’m running a KOT, RC, and Fuzz Head and sounds wonderful. Modulation pedals are easy with this amp too.
