I need some assistance from the guys who are a bit more technical than I am here.
I'm really good at following directions. When I purchased my new Z 2x12 cabinet, I removed the first speaker, disconnected the quick connects, installed the new speaker, hooked up the quick connects, done. Rinse and repeat for the second speaker. I also have an open back Boogie cabinet which I did the same thing to. Removed the two Black Shadow speakers, installed two Creams, donezo.
Both cabinets are wired in parallel, but the Boogie cab has two taps off of the positive and two taps off of the negative at the 1/4" jack. The Z cab has one tap each off of the positive and negative at the 1/4" jack, and then another pair of black and whites connecting positive to positive and negative to negative at each speaker. I have two taps off of each speaker in the Boogie cab, and three taps off of each speaker in the Z cab.
It's technically the same thing. What's the reason, if any, for the difference? I realize the way Z wires the cab makes it much easier to go between series and parallel, is that it??? Am I overthinking this???
In addition to what you noted, with a cabinet wired the way the Boogie cab is you can disconnect the first speaker in the chain without affecting the second. That might be an issue if the first speaker went bad or something like that. Basically it's just the wiring that the engineer arbitrarily chose.

GuitarZ: Bells & Whistles-New Cars. A year with our Subaru Outback, finally realized doors have to be unlocked for inside rear hatch button to work. Dang! I need that feature for social distancing. Looked like an idiot pulling up & jumping out to manually open.

GuitarZ: Best Pandemic Comment - Delivery guy shows up. As we're social distancing, I look at myself in brown loafers, black socks, gym shorts, t-shirt and say "I realize this is not my best look". His response "You can wear whatever you want to the apocalypse."
