So I need to change out the speakers in my 2x12 cab due to impedance issues with my newly acquired RX Jr head. Only has 4 and 8 ohm taps. So I am strongly considering swapping my 16 ohm Celestion Blue and G12H30 (70th) with Avatar's Hellatone Alnico 25 and Ceramic 25 in 8 ohm versions. These are basically Avatars equivalents (albeit slightly warmer) to my current Celestion setup. I know I could just get another Blue and G12H30 in 8 ohms each, but with the brightness of the RX JR and my tele, I figure a little warmth might not hurt.
***And just to be clear I am not talking about their relabeled V30 and G12H30 (Hellatone 30 and 60). Not interested in those. Only in the Alnico A25 and the Ceramic 25 (or ceramic 50).
Anyone here have any firsthand experience and want to push me over the edge to purchase?
Or maybe tell me I am crazy and stick with Celestion?
I've searched many forums (outside this one) and have seen a few positive reviews, but would love to hear from other Z users.

Your two existing 16 ohm speakers wired in parallel give you an 8 ohm load. You can't use that?

You can run the Rxjr with a 16 ohm speaker plugged into the 8 ohm jack without any problem. You can run speakers with higher impedance out of lower jacks. Just can't do it the other way around. As a matter of fact, I am currently running a 16 ohm Celestion out of the 8 ohm tap of mine. Been doing it for more than a year.

You will have a little more compression. The the power output will be a little less too but you may not even notice the difference. jhen86, I would try that before buying new speakers.

I have the a25. Great speaker which reportedly is combinations of the GB and g12h30 to get a Blue derived/inspired speaker.
Can't say it is warmer, maybe more mild is a better way to put it. I have run it in a 6g2 Princeton, Greer cam18, and a Ghia. It seems to be a great all around speaker.
