I have a couple questions about the Z-Plus. Hope Doc will weigh in.
IF the PSE option is offered as a factory mod, could you keep the Pentode/Triode feature ?
Also, would it be possible to add a switch so you could turn off one out put tube, kind of like a half power switch.
Lastly, would it be possible to combine the functions of a Pentode/Triode switch and a SE/PSE switch so you could have the Pentode/Triode feature in either SE or PSE operation ?

That seems like a lot of switches and options. Almost too many for me.
However, in theory they are possible.
Looking forward to what the mad scientist has to say.

Well that is quite a wish list. I have spent more time on the design and have switched to 6V6 PSE. Wow how nice and rich it sounds with the warmer 6V6's. The true Class A single ended amp creates such a beautiful guitar tone, it sounds like a great acoustic guitar when played clean.
The benefit of single ended is the even order harmonics are not cancelled as they are in Pull Pull amp designs. I truly never heard harmonic complexity as this before in any of my designs, truly breathtaking .
I did install a half power switch which turns the amp in one tube single ended.
As of now I have no plans to offer this as upgrade.

I have very fond memories of the single 6V6 amp that was in the guitar case of my Silvertone Dano.

I guess that begs the question... could a Cure be modded into a SE / PSE amp and retain the Level control ??

I'm excited to hear about how this project develops. Hearing doc talk about harmonic complexity is getting me stoked.

No a CURE can not be modded to a PSE. And again the level control is a Dual Ganged pot which is designed for a Phase Inverted Driver of a Push Pull amp.
