Can't say enough about this speaker! Got the 1x12 cab with the Z12 yesterday to match the new Lux combo and decided to try it with some of my other gear (Mesa Mk V, Splawn). It performed wonderfully with both and any music style I threw at it. Fart free and crystal clear even under high gain. I really like the Weber Amsterdam and have been replacing all of the screechy V-30s and C-90s in the house with them, but may need to refocus on Z12s. Haven't taken it out of the cab to inspect it yet, does anyone know what material the cone is? Is it hemp?

Nope. It's paper. It's amazing that it sounds as good as it does for as many styles of playing considering how much it costs. I like my C-Golds but hey, they cost THREE TIMES AS MUCH.

Thanks ZPilot! I agree, it is a great performer especially considering the price.

I have been using my 67 Princeton Reverb through the Z12 in my Cure for a week or so and love it! It will be going into my new 112 combo cab for the PR as soon as it gets here. I like the C-Rex in my Cure to smooth the sound a little so it worked out great!

I like the C-Rex in my Cure to smooth the sound a little so it worked out great! I have a '76 PR and I have played it through the Z-12 that came with my MAZ 8. It was a wonderful sound. If I was going to a 12 with that amp, which a lot of players like to do, that would be the one. I have chosen to stick with a 10 in the PR. I finally found the perfect, for me, speaker for that amp. A Weber 10F150T. It is a great 10" sounding speaker that is as efficient as most 12" speakers and doesn't break up too early.

I would have stayed with a 10, but since I was buying a whole new cab I thought why not! Ton of 12" options! I wanna try to keep the 67 drip edge cab in decent shape, it has flaws as it is but if I can keep it from getting more it may raise in value in the future?

I like that speaker a whole lot also. I've got one in my Cure and it sounds great but I've also had one in my Demeter ISO cab at the studio for about a year. I have 4 Fender amps routed to it via the DeLisle switcher. It really sounds great with all of them. I know the Doc is really particular about the paper.

More love for the Z-12 here. I just put my Maz 8 into a larger cab and used the G12H30, and I'm pulling it out tomorrow for the Z-12. I plugged into my Z-Lux with the Z-12 and what a difference. I've got one in a box that's going in tomorrow. I think I'm also going to change my Maz 18NR from the Eminence Reignmaker to the Z-12. I just ordered some new tubes from Perry and I understand that they will smooth the top end of the Maz 18 a bit as well. It's just a great, great all around speaker, and they're cheap on top of it all. Doc just keeps hitting it out of the park, doesn't he?

I'm using the Z-12 In a convertible closed back powered by the Antidote. I'm quite fond of that setup lately, and I've been a staunch 2x10 guy for the past 10 - 12 years.

Now I've got that speaker in 4 Z amps, and they're all different but it works in all of 'em. It is in my Z-Lux, Maz 18, Maz 8, and the Cure. I've tried many speakers in the Maz amps and I am very happy with the Z-12. It's an outrageous value, I like it better than drivers costing 3x as much.
