I have a Maz 18 1-12 with a G12H, I bought a Tone Tubby speaker to try out and when I tried to remove the G12 from the combo, it was stuck stuck. I gave up getting it out as I didn't want to screw things up. Is there a way to do this without just ripping it out?

Try using a putty knife or anything else sharp and flat. I'd start near one of the speaker's screw holes and work it between the gasket and baffle. If the paper gasket is stuck, baby it's stuck. If it does rip a little remember to scrape off the remainder before installing the new speaker. Maybe just try wiggling it as you pull it back. Good luck.

I wrecked my first G12H30 in my Maz 18 trying to remove it so be careful! Mine was stuck to the paint on the baffle, as is yours I'm sure. I guess they don't get a lot of drying time at Z's shop. Needless to say, you won't get much sympathy if you do wreck it, and Z gave me the same advice about using a flat blade or screwdriver to try and pry it up.
The gasket stayed stuck to the baffle and took the cone with it. I tried repairing it with wood glue, but it didn't sound the same. Might as well wait until you blow the speaker before you try and get it out!
Good luck!

The speaker in my Maz 38 came right out when I put a Tone Tubby in. That's a shame what happened to you guys.

yeah i wrecked my H30 same way rgb did, trying to get it out of my Z Best. If i had been more patient i probably could have gotten it out with working the putty knife some more. The V30 next to it came out no problem. What got the H30 was excess silicon holding a speaker bolt in..... Can you remove the baffle board on that amp by chance? Anything you can do to give you more room to work a putty knife around the speaker would help...

Baffle boards are set in on the combos.
